Originally constructed in 1972 by a father and son, this two-family residence was re-imagined to meet contemporary standards of living while preserving its connection to the surrounding landscape. A primary challenge of the renovation was the existing ceiling heights, which measured below eight feet throughout much of the house.

To address this constraint, two new volumes were introduced beyond the original footprint, each dedicated to one of the families and oriented toward southeast and southwest views respectively. These additions create generous living spaces with ten-foot ceilings while establishing a clearer relationship between the interior and the surrounding vineyards.

A new stair and elevator improve circulation and provide full accessibility throughout the residence. The resulting interior is defined by a restrained architectural language that contrasts with the rural setting while framing views of the landscape beyond.
